News

  • For those overseas fans, Picture House have hooked up with Townsend Records to run an online ordering service. Go to the Official Site for more details
  • There has been talk of  a forthcoming Singles Album, which is great news indeed! More on this as it develops...
  • Dave has been very busy lately, with solo projects of his own - kicking off the new year with a solo gig in the Lobby Bar, Cork, on January 11,alongside Scott Maher, of the Classic Beatles. He's also currently taking part in the Rat Pack "Live" at Dublin's Olympia Theatre, which is running throughout February. Also appearing are Jason O'Callaghan (of Sunday Independent Gossip Column/Andrea Roche punchbag fame) and the Dave Gold 20-Piece Big Band Orchestra.

Madness, Sadness, Gladness reached a height of Number 21 in the Irish charts

As any fan worth their salt will know, the eagerly-anticipated "Madness Sadness Gladness" was finally released in Ireland on Friday, October 18th, 2002. D'lads' official site has also been updated in the meantime, so go to http://www.picturehouseband.com, or http://www.picturehouse.ie to have a look! (But hang around here for a while first..) The updated site has clips from the new album to upload, wallpaper and some new pix among others

It's sad to report that Johnny Boyle has left Picture House for pastures new. We're all gonna miss him - it won't be the same!! Johnny's now drumming with Marianne Faithfull's band. We wish him all the best *sniff* Currently, Picture House have found a replacement drummer by the name of Jason, though I'm none too sure if he's just temporary or not.

D'lads are currently playing a regular session slot at Lillies Bordello, so for those fans among us who have a gold card, or who have the ability to scrub up well, or are "in" with Louis Walsh & his Puppets, should go along and let the rest of us "peasants" (teehee!) know how it goes!

New album due out on October 12th! Yes, I know we've heard it all before, but lets put our faith in it, and hope that it will indeed be ready before we all end up in nursing homes! D'lads were busy in Sweden recording the proverbial album at the end of 2001/start of 2002. It was originally to be titled "Windows To The Soul", but as we all know, a good glazier is hard to find to install those windows, so the new title is...*fanfare* "Madness, Sadness, Gladness". Swedish producer Adam Kviman is the brains behind it all. The band are playing a gig on the same day as the album is released, in the Ambassador, Dublin, and will no doubt be a great night

The latest single "Everybody Loves My Girl" was released in Ireland on Friday June 21st. The C.D. also features another new song "End To War" and a live version of "Sunburst" as b-sides. PH even made a video to accompany the single, and it features Dave driving around an amazingly gridlock-free Dublin city in a ferrari (not his own one...) which has "classy" red furry dice, and he heedlessly ignoring the highway code al the while. Tsk tsk!
